Montreal day 2 and 3
24/04/11
Easter Saturday in Montreal was tipping with rain so we headed to the Biodome, one of the few indoor, child-friendly attractions we could find. It’s a bit like the Eden Project but with animals, housed in the former 1976 Olympic velodrome.
The queue inside was comically long, so I waited while the others queued at the cafe for snacks. It took about an hour to get in but once we did it was quite good.
The animals were mostly birds, fish and small monkeys and they didn’t seem as miserable as those at Toronto zoo. I enjoyed seeing the puffins playing and flying underwater most. I also got very excited about the vintage-looking black & white photo booth which was hidden away beside the basement cloakroom.

We travelled by train which seemed like a good choice – the train was quite new, clean and comfortable, and despite the lack of interesting scenery on the way it was good to get a sense of Toronto’s surroundings.
