A crafty birthday

Trawling Flickr for vintage postcards for the redesign last week I found this great collection of vintage “large letter” designs which I used for this card. I put the flowers in to try to stop it looking like a birthday card for an 8 year old boy. Ah well…
Christine made this great caterpillar birthday cake with the kids: after dinner they each had half a caterpillar head for dessert – nice!

Oh great, glad you got it! It’s taken about 2 months for her to write her first letter so by the time we get back everyone should have received at least one.
Also this reminds me that I should write a post about the silly band phenomenon while it’s still alive.
Yes silly band phenomenon seems to be building here too.. the day before we received lily’s letter, we had been in toy shop at N.Green and one of eli’s classmates was in there buying some silly bands. Eli then decided to pull his moody teenager grump because I refused to buy him some ( I’m not mean, just the end of a week where most wishes had been granted!). I suggested he put some on his christmas list. So can you imagine the delight when the very next day what should arrive…
I had seen them before and thought they were some sort of hairband, but what do I know?!
